Sinossi | Abstract

The period between 1913 and 1922, the dates of publication of one of the greatest novels of European modernism, was crucial for the consolidation of both the cinematic storytelling and the theory of film. From this simple reflection, it became necessary investigate those that, at the end of my search path, I have defined the refractions in the cinema of the Proust’s narrative structure and aesthetics. Thus, at first I gave my attention to the work of intersemiotic translation made by writers and directors (for example, I have analysed the difficult management of the ‘je’ of the Recherche or the urge to ‘re-semanticize’ the Proust’s literary dense matter). Then, I have investigated the graft on the creative process of directors like Raoul Ruiz and Chantal Akerman of the Marcel Proust’s aesthetics.
